The purpose of this meeting is.

Three weeks ago, my contractor’s Head Honcho bailed on our weekly meeting. I didn’t like him bailing. I told him so. It’s my one hour per week with him, on a huge financial exchange. I don’t require much. But when we walk around together, he comments on the construction. His comments improve our plans. He saw my deep subfloor and offered to create floor storage space. He listened while I reiterated my happiness with his team – good for morale. He heard some details about the incoming lighting items.

Most meetings should be phone calls. Most phone calls should be emails. Most emails should be texts. Most texts should be shrugs.

This meeting is different. This meeting is an emotional sync. It’s insurance that we’re on the same page. We discussed the creation of a storage area above the hall. He commented that we probably didn’t need to draw it. I agreed that – so long as we know the values we’re aiming for, I’m fine with however we achieve it.

Those values: it must be big and strong, like our relationship when we meet weekly.

We schedule the meeting for 60 minutes. Today, we finished in 23. We remained in the space, calmly investigating together for another 20. That additional 20 minutes prompted one more topic. Then we all split.

4 men + 1 apartment – floors = creativity.
